It is important to us that worker and environmental protections are followed in the making of the leather we use, and that it is of the highest quality, durable, and beautiful. This is why we've selected full grain leathers that have been vegetable tanned, here in the United States. Veg-tanning means the leather is cured with natural plant material rather than using highly toxic chemicals like chromium. This traditional process is slower, but creates leather of exceptional quality and longevity. Leathers produced in the US, also pay workers a fair wage and follow environmental regulations protecting the environment, employees, and community. They will gain patina with use and have a lovely, earthy scent.
